Before You Begin

To successfully send files with Xender, you'll need:

• Xender app installed on both the sending and receiving devices
• Wi-Fi enabled on both devices (even if not connected to a network)
• Location services enabled (required for device discovery)
• Sufficient storage space on the receiving device

Sending Files Between Android Devices

Step 1: Open Xender on Both Devices

Launch the Xender app on both the sending and receiving Android devices.

Step 2: Set Up the Receiving Device

1. On the receiving device, tap the "Receive" button on the Xender home screen
2. The device will display a QR code and avatar, indicating it's ready to receive files
3. Keep this screen open while you prepare the sending device

Step 3: Prepare the Sending Device

1. On the sending device, tap the "Send" button on the Xender home screen
2. Xender will scan for nearby devices with Xender in receive mode
3. After a moment, you should see the receiving device appear as an avatar

Step 4: Connect the Devices

1. On the sending device, tap the avatar of the receiving device
2. The devices will establish a connection
3. If prompted, confirm the connection on the receiving device

Step 5: Select Files to Send

1. Once connected, you'll see file category options on the sending device (Photos, Videos, Music, Apps, Files, etc.)
2. Tap the category of files you want to send
3. Browse and select the specific files you want to transfer
4. You can select multiple files by long-pressing one file and then tapping others

Step 6: Send the Files

1. After selecting files, tap the "Send" button (usually at the bottom of the screen)
2. The transfer will begin immediately
3. You'll see a progress bar indicating the transfer status
4. Once complete, you'll see a confirmation message

Sending Files Between Android and iOS Devices

Xender also supports cross-platform file transfers between Android and iOS devices. The process is similar with a few minor differences:

Step 1: Open Xender on Both Devices

Launch Xender on both the Android and iOS devices.

Step 2: Set Up the Receiving Device

1. On the receiving device (either Android or iOS), tap "Receive"
2. The device will display a QR code and/or avatar

Step 3: Prepare the Sending Device

1. On the sending device, tap "Send"
2. The app will scan for nearby devices

Step 4: Connect the Devices

1. On the sending device, tap the avatar of the receiving device
2. If you're sending from iOS to Android, you might need to scan the QR code displayed on the Android device
3. Confirm the connection if prompted

Step 5: Select and Send Files

1. Select the files you want to send
2. Tap "Send" to initiate the transfer
3. Wait for the transfer to complete

Sending Files from Mobile to PC

Xender also allows you to send files from your mobile device to a computer without installing any software on the PC. This is done through Xender Web:

Step 1: Connect Your Phone to PC

1. On your mobile device, open Xender and tap "Web" or "Connect to PC"
2. Xender will display a QR code and a web address (URL)
3. On your computer, open a web browser and enter the displayed web address, or scan the QR code if your computer has a camera
4. This will open the Xender Web interface in your browser

Step 2: Send Files from Phone to PC

1. On your phone, tap the type of files you want to send (Photos, Videos, etc.)
2. Select the specific files you want to transfer
3. Tap "Send" to initiate the transfer
4. The files will appear in your browser, where you can download them individually or as a zip file

Sending Files to Multiple Devices (Group Sharing)

Xender allows you to send files to multiple devices simultaneously through its group sharing feature:

Step 1: Create a Group

1. On the sending device, tap "Send" on the Xender home screen
2. Look for a "Create Group" or "Group" option (the exact wording may vary depending on your Xender version)
3. Tap this option to create a sharing group
4. Xender will display a group code or QR code

Step 2: Connect Receiving Devices

1. On each receiving device, open Xender and tap "Join Group" or a similar option
2. Enter the group code or scan the QR code displayed on the sending device
3. Each device will connect to the group

Step 3: Send Files to the Group

1. On the sending device, select the files you want to share
2. Tap "Send" to transfer the files to all connected devices simultaneously
3. Each receiving device will get a copy of the files

Tips for Successful File Transfers

Optimize Transfer Speed

• Keep devices close: Maintain a distance of 1-2 meters between devices for optimal speed
• Remove obstacles: Physical barriers can reduce signal strength and transfer speed
• Avoid interference: Move away from other electronic devices that might cause Wi-Fi interference
• Close background apps: Close unnecessary apps to free up system resources
• Disable power saving: Turn off battery saving modes that might limit Wi-Fi performance

Ensure Successful Transfers

• Check storage space: Make sure the receiving device has enough free storage
• Keep devices awake: Prevent devices from going into sleep mode during transfers
• Update Xender: Use the latest version of Xender on all devices
• Grant permissions: Ensure Xender has all necessary permissions (storage, location, etc.)
• Restart if needed: If you encounter connection issues, restart the Xender app on both devices

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Devices Can't Connect

• Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on both devices
• Enable location services on both devices
• Restart the Xender app on both devices
• Try toggling airplane mode on and off
• Ensure both devices are running compatible versions of Xender

Transfer Fails or Is Interrupted

• Keep devices closer together
• Make sure the receiving device has enough storage space
• Check if any power-saving features are interrupting the connection
• Try transferring files in smaller batches
• Restart both devices and try again

Files Not Showing After Transfer

• Check the "Xender" folder in your device's internal storage
• Use your device's file manager to search for the transferred files
• Restart the receiving device
• Check if the files were saved to an SD card instead of internal storage
